About me...

I'm the mother of two beautiful children. Both are a continuous inspiration for the stories I write and have listened to more versions of my manuscripts than they’d care to admit. They are the best critics an author could ask for, not to mention the most honest. You know you have something special when your own children start reciting your lines.
When I’m not dropping off to baseball, soccer, or dance, you can find me in the classroom doing what I absolutely love to do….TEACH! Teaching has and always will be a wonderful source of joy in my life. There is no better feeling than helping children (and adults) become the best versions of themselves. Classroom life also makes for some good storytelling. Anyone who has spent time with children can probably recall thinking...I just can’t make this stuff up!

For me, writing is a way to share life's small, but important moments. Whether it's a girl named Gigi navigating her first day jitters or two friendly flies working to solve a problem, these moments have the power to teach children some important lessons.

Aside from writing, reading my stories aloud has to be the best part about being an author. I love how you can make a story come to life using just the sound and rhythm of your voice. I have been fortunate to read my stories to children across the state of New Jersey. Recently, I returned to my hometown elementary school for a special visit. This visit was featured on the Emmy Award winning public television program Classroom Close-Up and NJEA's social media outlet, Making the Grade. Be sure to check them out.

When I'm not writing, I enjoy soaking up some sun at the beach, grabbing a good cup of coffee, and snuggling up with my children to read a book. Professionally, I work as an educator, instructional coach, adjunct professor, and educational consultant. I hold a Ph.D. in educational leadership and two master's degrees in both biology and education.
